When we launched ILETA in 2023, our vision was clear: to build a community that is both connected and informed — a space where Legal English professionals could exchange ideas and stay ahead of changes shaping our field.

In February 2024, we proudly hosted our very first Winter School, introducing a groundbreaking theme — AI in the Legal English Environment. ILETA was the first organisation to dedicate an entire event to exploring how artificial intelligence is transforming teaching and translating in Legal English.

Since then, AI has continued to evolve and weave itself into our daily professional lives and that of other stakeholders. AI’s influence on the way we teach, assess, and practise Legal English — and on the skills our students need — is now unmistakable.

To stay at the forefront of these changes, I am excited to announce that our ILETA Online Winter School will return with the theme:

Legal English & AI

Teaching and Assessing Legal English Skills for Future Lawyers, Interpreters and Translators

While AI will be our main focus, we also welcome contributions on other emerging and relevant topics in our field. If you would like to share your expertise or ideas, we warmly invite you to submit a proposal.
