ILETA has been set up by our founder Sofia Parastatidou to bring together Legal English Trainers from around the world. With the fusion of experience, knowledge, skill sets – new and improved ways of teaching Legal English can be found and developed. This is imperative as we enter into the AI era.

We have already started to feel the effects articifial intelligence. Changes are inevitable in the way will have on the way we plan lessons, teach, test and assess students not to mention how the translation and interpreting industry will be affected. 

ILETA is an education and training institute for the professional development of new teachers and other practitioners (interpreters and translators) to the field of Legal English. And there is a place for our more experienced Legal English teachers and practitioners – we will help you refine and improve your skills too !

Through the ILETA training courses we aim to:-

  • provide the skills and training necessary to attain and enhance your confidence as a Legal English Teacher and practitioner
  • provide qualification and recognised CPD for Legal English Teachers and practitioners
  • Promote training and examination standards for national and international recognition of Legal English Skills and Language and skills for translating and interpreting
  • Foster continuing professional development (CPDs)
  • Provide access to teaching materials, professional and academic journals and training manuals to help teachers, trainers and students
  • Provide and foster networking activities and opportunities

 

Since launching in July 2023, ILETA has united Legal English practitioners globally through Europe, Asia, the Middle East, America, South America and Australasia. 

Catering for teachers/trainers and other professionals from academia and from the commercial sector ILETA provides a bridge between practitioners with diverse backgrounds and experience.

 

We have been instrumental in organising different events including:-

  • Hybrid Teacher Training Webinars
  • Hybrid Winter Schools 
  • Online Monthly Trainer MeetUPs (TM) 

Conferences, workshops, winter schools and webinars feature experts in the field of Legal English who present the latest developments on methodology, materials development and teachers’ practices, assessments and the incorporation/impact of AI on their teaching practices.
